UB20XX – 8in / 20cm Electric Hazardous-Area Ventilator

The RAMFAN UB20xx is a compact electric blower/exhauster designed for ventilation of hazardous (classified) atmospheres where electric equipment is permitted under established engineering controls and site-specific permit conditions. It is intended for use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments with known gas compositions, in accordance with the limitations of its certification.

The UB20xx is whole-unit certified to ATEX, IECEx, UKCA, and InMetro, ensuring that all ignition-relevant components—motor, enclosure, switching, and cable interfaces—are evaluated as a complete system rather than as individual certified parts. The unit is rated Ex db eb IIB T6 Gb, suitable for non-mining gas atmospheres up to T6, with an ambient operating range of –20 °C to +40 °C.

Despite its compact size, the UB20xx provides predictable and repeatable airflow for confined and restricted access applications. Free-air performance is rated up to 980 cfm (1,666 m³/hr) at 60 Hz, with defined performance curves under ducted conditions using certified anti-static ducting. The fan incorporates a thermally protected, totally encapsulated air-over flameproof motor, a 9-blade impeller, and a durable PC/ABS anti-static housing designed to withstand industrial handling and chemical exposure.

Field-ready features include an IP55-rated rain-tested switch enclosure, integrated duct adapters, and an extended power cable to support flexible deployment. The UB20xx is compatible with a range of RAMFAN accessories, including anti-static ducting, Quick-Couple™ canisters, and manhole entry devices, allowing the unit to be configured for targeted ventilation and confined space entry scenarios.

The UB20xx is commonly specified for confined space ventilation, manhole and vault entry, localized gas removal, and maintenance operations in chemical plants, utilities, marine environments, and other industrial facilities where compact, certified electric ventilation is required.
