EFi150xx – 16 in / 40 cm Electric Hazardous-Area Ventilator
The EFi150xx is a high-output electric blower/exhauster engineered for ventilation of hazardous (classified) atmospheres where the use of electrical equipment is permitted under defined engineering controls and site-specific permit conditions. It is intended for applications requiring higher airflow volumes and increased air velocities to reduce purge, cooling, or contaminant dilution times in Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments.
The unit is whole-unit certified to ATEX, IECEx, UKCA, and InMetro, ensuring all ignition-relevant components—including the motor, enclosure, switching, cable entries, and electrical interfaces—are evaluated as a complete system. The EFi150xx carries the marking II 2 G Ex db eb IIB T6 Gb, suitable for non-mining gas atmospheres up to T6, with an ambient operating temperature range of –20 °C to +40 °C.
Driven by a 1.5 hp (1.1 kW) totally encapsulated flameproof motor, the EFi150xx delivers up to 4,459 cfm (7,580 m³/hr) free air, with defined and repeatable performance under ducted conditions when used with certified anti-static ducting and adapters. The 7-blade conductive impeller, anti-static PC/ABS housing, and thermally protected motor are designed for continuous-duty operation in demanding industrial environments.
The ventilator incorporates integrated 16 in / 40 cm duct adapters, an IP55-rated switch enclosure, extended power cable, and stackable housing design to support efficient deployment, storage, and transport. The EFi150xx is available in 115 V or 230 V, 50/60 Hz, allowing alignment with regional electrical standards and hazardous-area power distribution systems.
The EFi150xx is commonly specified for large confined spaces, vessel holds, tanks, process areas, and enclosed industrial spaces where high airflow is required to establish or maintain safe atmospheric conditions during maintenance, shutdowns, and construction activities in potentially explosive atmospheres.
